Season 2 of And Then This Happened podcast now live
We’re thrilled to be back for our second season…
Today marks the launch of Season 2 of And Then This Happened, a podcast series that features raw, honest conversations with founders, CEOs, and trailblazers in the world of DTC ecommerce.
We’re thrilled to be back for our second season, which spotlights inspiring individuals who have overcome personal, interpersonal, and logistical challenges to find success.
Not ringing a bell? That could be because the first season of the show was called Making it Happen.
So why the new name, and what exactly can you expect from the new season? Check out the trailer below or keep reading to find out what’s changing—and what’s staying the same this time around.
What changed?
As we started working on Season 2, we realized Making it Happen wasn’t quite the right name for the show we were creating. It felt a little idealist, and it implied that founders have it under control at all times.
They don’t. You can occasionally “make something happen” if you work hard and believe in yourself. But when you’re building a business, things happen that are beyond your control—for better or for worse. And in those cases, it’s not always as simple as just making it happen.
This year, we wanted to underline the fact that along the journey to building a thriving business, the unexpected is bound to happen. We believe being an entrepreneur doesn’t mean avoiding or preventing these moments—it means reacting to them, finding a solution, and figuring out a way to get past them.
That’s what this show is all about. And it’s what the new name embraces.
So whether you’re starting a business, leading a team, running a company, or you just like a good story, we hope And Then This Happened gives you the inspiration and advice you need to make it through to the next chapter (or even just the next page) of your journey.
What’s the same?
Katie Demo and Jenny Rudin, co-founders at Brass Clothing and hosts of Season 1, return in Season 2 to continue demystifying the entrepreneur’s journey. As founders themselves, they have seen it all, been through it all, and come out on the other side.
We’ll also continue to feature inspiring individuals who work at successful ecommerce brands. They’ll divulge captivating stories as well as tactical advice around what it takes to be a leader, a trailblazer, and a visionary.
Through it all, And Then This Happened will showcase what it’s really like to start, run, and grow a business.
